IMPLANT APPLICATION IN THE TREATMENT OF DENTAL DEFICIENCIES
What is an implant? In which situations and to whom are implants applied?
“Implants are special screws made of titanium placed inside the jaw bones in case of missing teeth. They consist of two parts. The first is the titanium part placed inside the jawbone that is surgically placed. The implant already comes from the word "to implant". The second part is on top of it, the prosthetic part that provides the superstructure. Implants are applied to individuals with tooth deficiency, but there are also people who cannot be applied. Since the chin and face development must be completed, the person to be implanted must be over the age of 18. If the person has lost his teeth under this age, special appliances are made to prevent other teeth from lying in the area where the missing tooth is located or to prevent the upper tooth from sagging with special applications that we call placeholder. Such patients are expected to be expected or, if they are younger, perhaps orthodontic treatment can be considered as an alternative. Unless there is a very unusual situation in adult individuals, almost everyone can have implants. Here, the group we should pay attention to is the diabetic patients. We do not say that diabetes patients cannot be done. In order for these patients to be implanted, it is very important that their diabetes is regulated, that is, under control. Also, for patients who use blood thinners for various reasons, we need to get in consultation with their doctors. Similarly, we say that it can be done in consultation with the doctor in patients who are treated for osteoporosis.
