WHAT IS TOOTH PAIN?
Toothache; It can be caused by inflammation of the gums, erosion of tooth enamel, tooth decay, or other similar causes.
Toothache is an ailment that almost everyone encounters at one or more stages in their lives. The general opinion among the public is that toothaches are ordinary pains and therefore going to the dentist is delayed until it becomes unbearable. In addition, due to the same opinion, it is one of the most common pain types in which unconscious use of painkillers and various methods are seen.
Common causes of toothache:
Tooth enamel erosion
Diseases of the gums
Tooth decays and dental abscesses
Embedded Teeth (wisdom teeth)
Sinusitis and extraoral diseases
The most common causes of toothache are tooth decays. Dental caries are encountered in 97% of people. This is especially due to poor oral care or poor oral hygiene. Bacteria that grow in the mouth form acid with flour and sugary food residues, which weakens the protective layer of the tooth and causes caries.
Toothaches are often felt as throbbing and extremely uncomfortable. The pain gradually increases and sometimes becomes unbearable. Especially if there is an inflammatory condition such as abscess, it may cause swelling that can be noticed from the outside. Hot-cold sensitivity and sensitivity increase when pressed to the tooth. Minor breaks can be seen in the teeth.
